Pentax Introduces a Second DIL Camera

Last year’s Pentax Q digital interchangeable lens camera was only the beginning for this company in the DIL market.

Today, Pentax has announced a second DIL camera, the Pentax K-01.

The K-01 isn’t quite as small as the Q, which I reviewed recently, but it still looks like a very interesting camera, especially because it can accept any Pentax K lens. As far as I can decipher, this is the first DIL camera that can accept lenses originally made for DSLR cameras.

Pentax K-01 Boasts APS-C Sensor, Mod Design

Panasonic Adds Four Cameras to 2012 Lineup

Panasonic has announced four new cameras today, including the water-resistant Lumix TS20 (pictured here). The new models are:

  • Lumix TS4. The high-end TS4 (MSRP $400) includes GPS and “tough” features, including waterproofing. It’s very similar to the Lumix TS3 from last year.
  • Lumix TS20. The TS20 ($180) is similar to last year’s Lumix TS10, and will work in up to 16 feet of water depth.
  • Lumix ZS15. You’ll find a 16X optical zoom lens with the ZS15 ($280).
  • Lumix ZS20. Panasonic claims the ZS20 ($350) is the thinnest camera (1.3 inches) with a 20X lens.
